Code 95365

I guess I have the same problem as many people concerning this code with T-3, T936 and schedule 3 and I get error 95365 and my income tax is being rejected by Netfile.  Will it be fix soon.  I would appreciate a reply.

WORKAROUND THAT WORKS:  for dual return files (self/spouse):

For all T3s: enter 100% ownership at top and then half of all values into boxes.  (I also only entered capital gains in box 53, using the same value as line 21, half the total, instead of dividing the time periods).

Then values for line 68140 on T936 were correct and agreed with Schedule 3 line 17600, and I could NETFILE both returns.

@Genie45 For the error on the T3 slip not balancing box 52+53 to equal box 21A, trying to enter the sum of 52+53 into box 53 (deleting 52) should fix the problem.

I followed your suggestion Aquila and I am no further ahead than I was and your phone and message system is not working as I spent at least over half an hour trying to get either of them to no avail. The reply I received from CRA is the same that I have received before and my netfile was not accepted as before.  When can we expect this problem to be fixed properly so we can file Our income tax instead of having to try this and that.  The reason I bought the software for years it is because it used to work not for me to do trial and error until April 30.  Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Here is a picture of the document I received from CRA.  I split my capital gain with my husband.

code 95365 -There is an entry on the Form T936 and/or on the Schedule 3 and one of the following situations applies to your return.  Please verify your entries and make any necessary corrections.

1. You reported a capital gain from a T3 slip on line 17600 of Schedule 3.An entry is also required on line 68140 in Chart A of Form T936.  Line 68140 cannot be less than line 17600.

2. There is an entry in line 68140.  You also have to report a capital gain (loss) on line 17600.  If the total capital gains (or losses) from all your T3 slips is 0, your software should generate an entry of “1” on line 17600.

3. There is an entry on line 68140.  You must also have an entry on line 68150. If line 68140 minus line 12in Chart A is zero, your software should generate an entry of “1”on line 68150.

4. There is an entry on line68150. An entry is required on line 68140.  Line 68140 cannot be less than line 68150.

 Thank you.

I have encountered the same Netfile Error Code 95365,  My spouse and I prepare and file our taxes together.  I filed her taxes via Netfile last evening and it was accepted successfully.  I then submitted my tax filing via Netfile and it was not accepted.  Was trying to find correspondence on this error and was finally able to find this chat stream today.  Not impressed.

As I have already filed my spouses tax return I do not want to go back into TurboTax to alter numbers as suggested above.  Please fix this problem ASAP.

HI,  I had exactly the same experience - filed my spouses', and then mine was rejected.  I have previously explained what I did to make it go.  But it may be, if you do what I did, that your spouse's tax due may change somewhat.

We should not have to do this - it goes back to the Govt reversal of how to treat Cap Gains, plus TTx dropping the ball, but it works and the CRA should be OK with it.

First, enter 1/2 of each T3 into each of your T1s separately, showing 100% ownership of 1/2 of all values (or whatever % split is appropriate).  Second, I entered no values in box 52 and the same number in box 53 as in box 21.  BMO Investorline suggested doing this, actually.

TTX should then calculate correctly with respect to your T3s for both returns.

In your case, you might then see whether your spouse's taxes change.   If so, you should alter key values via the CRA site after you get a provisional notice of assessment message back from them.

Good luck.

deleting box 52 and putting all in box 53 worked for me - (this is beyond silly)

This is beyond frustrating.  There was a TurboTax update this morning and the issue with Error 95365 has still not been fixed.  Line 17600 from the T3 slip requires an entry on Form T936 line 68140.  There is still nothing showing on Line 68140 and I therefore cannot Netfile my tax return.  When will this be corrected?

Hello,

I tried the fix of deleting box 52 and putting total of 52 and 53 in box 53.  That did not work for me.

Would it be possible Aniqua to let us know when the technical team has finished the fix?

Thanks,

Suzi

Will Turbotax be putting out a notice on the main website to notify us when error 95365 has been fixed.  I don't want to page through a bunch of texts.
