I answered YES to the first question. I noticed the answers to the other questions were automatically checked as YES. Should I be changing this or do I leave them as is.

You will answer each question as it pertains to your personal information. The software defaults to a Yes or No sometimes, depending on the question. 

Anything related to dependants or yourself must be answered accurately so the software will be able to calculate your refund/owing correctly. So if you see a YES and it should be NO, or visa versa then ensure you apply the correct answer.
