Disability Tax Credit. Cant remove from Turbo Tax

Hello:

I have a dependent who has no disabilities, and i ticked that i was not claiming the disability tax credit,  however Turbo Tax has it listed Child and Disability Tax Credit as a $5000.00 deduction . How do i get rid of this? is it a problem with the software?

thanks

If you did not select and started a new return. I am recommending contacting our support  see the link below so they can review your file:

We had the same issue and this appears to be a known bug in TurboTax (prior DTC stays as active for dependent even if you say not eligible for DTC now).

The easiest fix is to go on your personal profile and DELETE the dependent from your personal tax profile and save it. This will eliminate any legacy DTC benefits/caregiver amounts.

Then you ADD the same dependent back to your tax profile and answer all of the follow-up questions according to current status (e.g. say No to DTC in later questions).

Above worked for us.  Good luck.
