I am getting an error that reads
The amount of foreign capital gains included in Box 52 plus the amounts in Box 54 and Box 56 can't be more than the total capital gains in Box 52. Additionally the amount of foreign capital gains included in Box 53 plus the the amounts from Box 55 and Box 57 can't be more than the total capitial gains in Box 53.
I have 0.00 in boxes 54 and 56 so the amount of box 52 ia not more than the total capital gain, same as boxes 55 and 57 are 0.00.
Why am it getting an error that is preventing me from Netfiling my taxes
For the error on the T3 slip not balancing box 52+53 to equal box 21A, trying to enter the sum of 52+53 into box 53 (deleting 52) should fix the problem.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Hi,
i tried this but still got the same error. is the error due to your software not being updated? When can we expect to have it fix?
Thank you!
@maria311 We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working on a resolution. Once it is resolved, we will update you in this thread. We appreciate your patience.
I got this same error message today. I did no find box 54 ,56 on my T3 slip, and I did not find those box on TURBO tax either. so how do I correct it . can we just ignore it and file return?
I have received similar errors which are preventing me from Netfiling.
This is one error supposedly in the T3 that states:
I have checked but the conditions stated do not exist.
There is a second supposed error in the T3 which states as follows:
|
There is nothing to adjust and again it will not allow me to Netfile.
This needs to be resolved quickly.
Please let us know when this corrected.
@SilverAce68 Sure, we will. Our development team is working on a resolution. Once it is resolved, we will update you in this thread. We appreciate your patience.
Will there be an update or message on the 2024 package. I wasted many hours thinking it was my error as I have never had a problem with Turbotax before. If you are aware of this problem other users should be notified. This issue is delaying filing our taxes and our time.
@DIana59 i totally agree with you. But our complaints and requests for an ETA on a fix seem to be falling on deaf ears.
This is getting ridiculous. I have been using TurboTax/Quicktax for well over 20yrs and have never encountered anything like this before. I also cannot file as I am getting a Netfile error Box 52 and 53 not adding up to Box 21 plus several other error. This should be a priority for the development team as this error has been going on for weeks. I refuse to accept their solution of adding both boxes and putting it in Box 53. They said this is acceptable solution from the development team, but this is not acceptable by CRA and will result in an audit. It should not take this long to correct some computer code and send out a update. At the very least, Intuit should be sending out a partial refund for the delay. I will be looking at other tax filing software next year as this is not acceptable.
Pissed off user.
@RobGreen I 100% agree. We are tired of delays and excuses Intuit. Fix this now!
I just noticed that they locked the other thread where people were complaining. If this isn't fixed by the end of this week, I will be demanding a full refund and filing with different software.
@DIana59 Thanks for the feedback. We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working on a resolution.
We are hoping to get this resolved quickly. You have been added to the email list and will receive an email once it is resolved. We appreciate your patience.
I am so disgusted with Turbo Tax and their ridiculous solutions to this T3 slip issue. I will also be looking at another tax program for next year. I have spent countless hours trying to figure this out only to find out that Turbo Tax just hasn't been able to fix things on their end. Brutal!!!!!! All of us have to register our tax product with them, so why have they not send out any emails to let us know that this is their problem, not ours!!!!!
I am having the same problem and cannot netfile. Please email when this is fixed. Thank you.
We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working on a resolution. Currently we don't have any ETA. Once it is resolved, we will update you in this thread. We appreciate your patience.
Please, add me to the information list as I am also having the t3 issue and unable to netfile.
Please add my email to the list. I cannot file a return because of this error. Never encountered this kind of problem in all the years I have done taxes.
Lisa
I have the same error! The T-3 amounts are split 50-50 with my husband, but I entered them into my name.
The software allowed me to Netfile his return, but not mine. Please fix your software! I have been using Intuit products since 1998 and I wish you would just get to it!
Please add me to the notification once this is resolved. Thanks.
