Depending which errors you are getting, different solutions may be required. Which errors are you getting and are you using TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop/Download?
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Thanks for your quick response. I am using the download/desktop Premier version. The errors are related to me being self-employed, which I am not. I have income from rental properties, but I am not self-employed. Here are the errors:
'The fiscal period start date can only be in the current tax year or the year before the current tax year. The fiscal period end...'
'You have entered an invalid industry code.'
'Your business or rental address is missing information (ie. number and street) or it has a character that can't be used. These...'
'You have chosen to apply for the Ontario senior homeowners' property tax grant but do not meet the age requirement of being at...'
Any help is appreciated!
Have you clicked on each of them, one at a time, and verified them. As indicated you need to verify the dates, address, etc.?
1-The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) now says that if you own rental properties this means you are self-employed. You will need to enter your address and a business name can be your name, etc.
2-Please see our TurboTax FAQ: What is my industry code?
3-When in Easy Steps, click on the Find icon at the top right and write: senior then highlight senior homeowners' property tax grant and scroll down to click Go to verify if you have applied for it and you were not over 64. You will need to change this to No claim then click Continue.
