Form T936, Chart A, Line 68140, error code #95365 - Desktop Version

Line 68140 in Form T936, Chart A should automatically include the sum of all lines 21 in T3 slips. It's not working. I called Turbotax customer support twice yesterday and today. The staff I discussed this with had no idea, made excuses, said that it's a problem with CRA, etc. No resolution so far.

Hope someone will see this and fix it, it's an error in the desktop version. CRA rejected my tax return.

I have the same issue.  Wondering if you claimed less than 100% on the T3 slip.  This may be the reason for the error code popping up as you may be claiming a lessor amount that's on the T3 slip.

That was a good suggestion because on my T3 form it had my spouse at 0%, but I hadn't marked it in the form as 100% for myself.  Unfortunately doing that still not not fix the Netfile error.

I'm having the same problem (CRA code #95365) with an empty line 68140 with capital gains not being entered.

Anxiously awaiting a fix from Intuit!

Is there a resolution timeline with respect to Code#95365 netfile rejections.  I am seeing reporting of diverse reasons why netfile is not accepted even after the "reasons" why are reviewed or addressed.

Today is the 25th and this problem still is showing up.  This seems like an easy fix as you are just moving an entery from one place to another??

How is this a CRA issue?  I can see that the number is not being moved correctly from one location to another?  How do we get notification once this issue is resolved?

This is not a CRA issue - Turbotax fails to copy the amounts from box 21 on the T3 slips to line 68140 on Chart A of T396. In the 2023 version the box 21 information is simply transferred but in 2024 line 68140 remains at $0. Should be a simple fix - just make box 21 copy to 68140 like it did last year! Cannot file until this is fixed.

The value I found in box 68140 is the value of box 21 from T3 divided by 2. That is clearly incorrect because the form states the value of 68140 should be the sum of values in box 21 of all T3 forms... Imho the error is in Intuit's software. Eh? 🙂

Thanks for getting back to me. I rushed to my conclusion and under further investigation I see that it is mostly a CRA issue. when you guys are using a formula to divide investments or other items between parties it seems the way you do it creates roundup errors. you should calculate one (with round up) and then subtract the other one from this number total. Then you actually add up to penny.

It is not a CRA problem.  it is Turbotax problem.

I hope TurboTax has notified the CRA of the error in their code that is preventing your customers with T3 information from filing.  I'd hate to see all of us get hit with penalties because your software is incorrect.

@Buchd1 Thank you for the feedback. The filing due date is April 30th, 2025.

I don't know what your software is doing but in my version it's clearly a Turbotax issue.  Line 68140 is a calculated field and it shows at zero, regardless of entries to the contrary on the T3 box and line 17600 on Schedule 3.  It's incredible that this issue has been flagged for over a week now by numerous users and still no resolution.  Even worse that this issue is being described by customer support as a CRA issue when I can see with my own eyes that line 68140 is not being calculalated correctly.  I've used Turbotax since 2010 but I'll be looking at different tax software next year.

When I first got my rejection from the CRA I thought it was a Turbo tax issue but on doing searches there is a lot of evidence that there is a CRA problem and they acknowledge this on their website, including extending file times for fillers that have these capital gains T slips. In fact their own admission goes back almost to the start of the year (so if takes this long to visit seems like it has no real solution at hand).  From the threads there maybe issues within TurboTax but they maybe can't fix until CRA does their thing. The other thing they could do is not let you netfile until the issues are resolved? This is all related to the illegal actions of CRA and the government when they wanted to implement their increase in Capital Gains percentage before it actually past parliament. To get re elected they then flipped to take this increase back until after election and if they get elected they will pass through parliament and CRA will actually start collecting legally.
