TurboTax was telling me that my common law and I would get a refund of almost $3,500. After the CRA's assessment, we have a balance to pay of $1,750. How can those 2 values be so different? We are talking over $5k difference. I would really like an explanation. We just had T4s and Tuition. We left Canada in May/2018 and did our return as Non-residents. (But all of that information was already on TurboTax before it generated us the refund amount).
