Hi there, Could you please tell me why I owe $1179.50 this year and got a refund of over $400 last year when nothing has really changed on my income tax return?

The only significant difference is that I got the CERB last year ($12,000), but I don't know how that could make that big an impact.

Credits, deductions, and tax rates are different from year to year, so it's difficult to answer your question without checking your return in detail.

One possibility is you may be required to repay the CERB.
