Here’s how to delete a return that hasn’t been sent via NETFILE:
In TurboTax Online, click on “My Returns”, then “View All Tax Returns” on the left side menu to see all your returns. Then click on the small trash can icon to the right of the return that you want to delete.
In the TurboTax App, tap on the 3 line icon in the top left. Then tap on “My Returns”, then “View All Tax Returns” on the left side menu to see all your returns. Find the return that you want to delete and tap “Delete” under its name.
In TurboTax CD/Download, please close the program. Then in Windows, navigate to the location of the tax file you want to delete. The files are usually stored in Documents>TurboTax>2022 (or whatever year you are working on). Find the tax file that you want to delete and then drag it to the Windows Recycle Bin. When you empty the Recycle Bin, the file will be permanently deleted.
You cannot, however, cancel a tax return once you have already submitted it to the Canada Revenue Agency.
