How do you enter the correct amount on line 22900? Turbo tax seems to have changed and does not allow to enter the correct amount?

You may have entered various amounts that TurboTax calculates to that line which include anything listed below.

 

Line 22900 of the return - Deductions for certain expenses incurred to earn employment income, such as; 

  • Accounting and legal fees,
  • Advertising and promotion,
  • Allowable motor vehicle expenses,
  • Food, beverages, and entertainment expenses, up to 50%, Lodging, when work conditions require being away from the employer's place of business,
  • Supplies (for example, postage, stationery, other office supplies),
  • Tradesperson's tools expenses,
  • Apprentice mechanic tools expenses, Instrument expenses,
  • Capital cost allowance for musical instruments,
  • Artists' employment expenses.

To review and confirm the source amounts of your employment expenses on line 22900: 

  1. In the upper-right corner of your screen, select Find
  2. In the Find window, type Employment. 
  3. Select Employment Expenses from the list, and select Go.
  4. Or go to your "Income" tab, then select "Employment Expenses"
