How to i do a CRA Import (auto-fill) a second time?

I am using TurboTax download 2023 and doing a joint submission for both my spouse and I via EasyStep.

First time through I did a CRA Import for myself but not my spouse (hit skip import) and I noticed not all my T slips where on CRA site yet. I have since confirmed through the CRA site that my slips are now there and I want to redo the CRA Import but EasyStep is only allowing me to import for my wife and does not prompt for the CRA Import for myself. I have repositioned back as far as Profile and when stepping into CRA Import it ignores my return.

How do I get Auto-Fill to rerun the CRA Import?

Go into Forms mode, and make sure you are selected at the bottom. Then select File > Import Tax Data... from the top most menu. It should bring you to the Auto-Fill page for you.

When I do a second-time Auto-fill, will all my data entered in TurboTax up to that point (some data are outside CRA slip data) be completely wiped out? Or, just the CRA data will be over-written with the second Auto-fill?

Also, in the TurboTax help page, it says no capital gain/loss data is to be Auto-filled from CRA, but it appears that the T5008 slip is downloaded (except the 'Invest Type' field is blank). Isn't that the T5008 slip already containing the capital gain/loss data?

I have a PC download version of TurboTax.

You only want to auto-fill once. You do not auto-fill your T-Slips to go in twice- it will double your income.

Capital Gains are reported on T5008s (stocks), T3s (trusts), and T5013s (partnerships) and can be self-entered on Schedule 3 within TT0 under "Income > Investments > Capital Gains and Capital Gains Deduction Profile".

For the slips, if you auto-fill your T5008 review them make certain they are entered as Capital Gains and not Investment Income, as there is a choice to be made.
