it is NOT FIXED.. IT IS WORSE. It netfiled successfully BUT when i checked the pdf it did not actually upload the T1198. I have bee on the phone last couple of hours trying to get this remedied. The Turbotax person took over the screen and has acknowledged that it isn't working. My hunch is if you started the return prior to the fix on the ONLINE it still isnt working. It is worse that it doesnt give you an error message as you expect it worked properly. Still waiting to hear back from TurboTax person as he troubleshoots
My Turbo Tax desktop is updated and still shows my form is locked. What's going on?
@peterapple We can understand your frustration. Thank you for the feedback. We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working on a resolution. We appreciate your patience.
Given that my return netfiled without the T1198 has anyone tried sending it electronically thru My Account - Change Return as mentioned in this CRA link:
@5196989880 Have you used TurboTax Online Version or TurboTax Desktop Version? You can make changes to a filed tax return by filing a T1-adjustment. The CRA requires that you wait until you’ve received your Notice of Assessment (NOA) before filing an adjustment. In many cases, the CRA will catch the mismatch and automatically adjust your return for you.
For step-by-step instructions, please follow this TurboTax article: I've filed my tax return. Can I still make changes?
As an update to my last post. Noone got back to me. I had to call back and start the process again only to be told that I would need to mail it all in. Doing my own research I found out I can do an online Change my Return once it has been.processed.
I have used Turbotax for years but this makes me question that is providing the optimum return.
I’ve been waiting weeks for Intuit to accept my T1198!! I’m doing it online so there is no updating of system. I’ve restarted my return from the start, but I still receive the error message “The total amount of payments received (box 65818) must equal the total principal plus interest amounts.” My numbers exactly match what is on my form. Others teachers have said theirs is now being accepted. I’m about to give up and try H&R. Please help!!!
I hear you!
I input the same amount in the first box (total principle + interest) and the form took. As I interpret it, it’s the same amount since there was no interest. I’m reading that people attach the T1198 form (the one actually issued by the school board or whatever documentation you have) to their turbotax return. At least I hope that’s the case. I haven’t filed yet but my form took. Not sure if this helps but good luck. Frustrated teacher here too!
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I too tried inputting the same amount in Box 68518 as in Box 68519. It does accept the form when I do that, but I would love it if Intuit would chime in. Are we ok to do that? I hate to guess on something that makes a huge difference on our return amount like this.
Do you know how they attached it? Somehow within turbotax?
