I paid, netflled and then get stuck in an infinite loop where Turbotax repeatedly asks me to email a friend.

Just got a hint from our development team... Are you using TurboTax Online in IE11? Try switching to another browser.

I was using Safari on MacOs 10. I switched to Chrome and it worked.

You should be able to select the Continue button to jump past the 'Share the love' page.

Selecting the Continue button is looping you?
