If I share custody (50/50), and the mother gets all the baby bonus money in place of dad paying child support, can the dad claim the dependant?

The mother has always claimed in the past.

Only one person( either mother or father who the child is residing with) can claim the dependent. If the Canada Revenue Agency receives duplicate claims, they will reject both. Only by one parent relinquishing the claim can it be resolved. You can also refer to CRA link.
