Information about your residency status

I have been a Candian residence my whole life.  I've used Turbotax for more than 10 years to file my return.  When I chose the feature "Review" before fiing I get a msg:  "In order to determine your eligiblity for NETFILE, you must input your residency status".  I am happy to do so if either of the 2 choices were applicable.

Choice 1:  I was a Canadian resident

Choice 2:  I was a factual resident

Because both choices say "was" it makes it seem that this is past tense.  Both choices would be wrong for me.  If I don't select one I think I will have problems netfiling.  Please someone help me!!  I have already filled out my same address I've had for 20 years on the face of the T1 - I don't understand why this msg is coming up.

You are preparing your returns for 2023, so the question is in the past tense because it's talking about last year.

Okay if its referring to 2023 as a past tense since we are now in 2024 - makes sense.

The wording is still a little wierd and I suggest Turbotax consider editing this.  Thankyou for your help solving this Susan!
