No place to indicate I am renting out a part of my home

I am using Self-Employed 2025 online.

I rent out a portion of my home and I am entering my income and expense.

It looks like the system is attributing all expense to rental and does not allow me to select my personal portion.

For expenses it says:

"Include only the rental expense portion in this section, do not include any personal portion of these expenses"

It does allow me to distinguish between Total expenses and for short-term rental, but nothing about my personal portion.

Might need to move to a different software... T_T

Talked to support and got sent this? Might be for the US version? I don't see these options.

As the text says, "Include only the rental expense portion in this section". If you pay $1000 for insurance, and the rental part of your house is 1/4 of the total property, then you'd enter $250 in to the program.

I did. So say I paid $100 total for insurance for the whole house, and I rent 30% of the house out. I entered $30 for insurance per the instruction.

But in the actual form generated that was about to get sent to CRA (good I caught it). The system is treating $30 as the total expense. What should happen is I should be able to indicate the total was $100 and $70 was my personal portion.

I don't have the option to do this.

You can only claim the portion of your rental. You cannot claim your personal amounts. For example, if you pay $100 a month for your insurance, then that would be $30 a month that you can claim. So enter $30x the number of months your tenant lived there for your insurance.
