Offset CA passive income with passive loss carriover

I have a rental property in CA: this year I have a net income. I'd like to offset that with past year (carryover) loss, but I can't find a way to do that. TT deducts the net income from last year loss, but it still shows I have a CA adjusted gross income, and I have to pay taxes on it.
