Pension Splitting

There seems to be an error in the Pension splitting software.

SIUTUATION: I wish to split my pension with my spouse.

I fill in the amount that I wish to split in my T1. Because my spouse deceased in 2022 the software correctly pro rates the maximum amount that can be split. This all works perfectly...

I then go to my spouses T1 return and check the box that asks who's pension do you wish to split - which is of course mine. I then fill in the required data as obtained from the T1032 in my T1, and then enter the amount of pension to be split. WHEN I EXAMINE THE TAX OWING, IT HAS DECREASED not INCREASED AS IT SHOULD BE. There must be an algebraic sign reversal error in the software.

PLEASE Clarify..
