Professional Dues

I am a retired engineer but still pay my annual professional dues.  I have the dues amount with and without GST.  Which amount do I enter on my return and how do I answer the associated GST question?

Thanks

For the dues that have GST included, enter the full amount that you paid, then answer "Yes" to the question “Subject to GST”. For the dues that don’t have GST, enter the full amount & leave all the questions regarding sales tax as “No”.

PEO (Prof Eng Ontario) dues include BOTH gst and hst, but TurboTax (standard, cd install) will not allow both to be selected….program needs an update to allow it?

You actually report it the same way and include the HST amount paid 13/113 instead of 5/105. Refer to the link below:

I hope this was helpful
