Professional Membership Fees - amount before or after taxes ?

See below.

The wording is not clear enough on whether or not the "Dues Paid" should include the taxes or not.

It can be interpreted both ways :

a) enter the fee before taxes, choose "yes" to HST (or the other taxes) so that the software knows it has to calculate the taxes itself

b) enter the fee with the taxes, and choose "yes" to HST (or the other taxes) so that the software knows that the taxes are already factored in the amount.

From what I could see from the reported value in the Summary page, TurboTax seems to use the amount as entered. It basically sums the different slip amounts entered on the page.

As far as I know, CRA wants to know the full amount with the taxes...

So it seems to me that the correct interpretation should be (b) , and that the amount should already include taxes.

Yet another user posted the opposite conclusion 2 years ago here : https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/community/troubleshooting/discussion/professional-membership-fees-asks-for-itemized-fees-do-i-include-the-gst-amounts-in-the-expenses/01/886229#M605

I think this should be clarified in the TurboTax interface.

It is claimed with the taxes applied.

Please review the following links  from TurboTax & the CRA for more detailed information:
