How do I close my account and delete all information??

Before you supply the same cut and paste answer that you have for all the other people who asked, let me just say that your site is a "not-to-merry-go-round".

 

The article that you all keep cutting and pasting says Call /Contact Support, but there is no phone number available unless you pay for an "Expert" you do not have access to one.

 

Quite simply legally you need to close the account and remove all my personal data from your network and systems when asked. Check with the Privacy Commission, and CRA if you doubt this. Considering all I originally wanted to do was opt out of all the spam-like emails I have been receiving, and could not find a way to do so, heck I could not even find an account dashboard. So ... I now want to CLOSE MY ACCONT.

 

Provide a telephone number or online system to allow this, it is required by law. I know this because I administer a network where we have to close accounts when a customer requests it, and we are not even in the financial industry. 

 

So let's not do cut and paste again, just supply me with a method to close my account, not an article that gives details only relevant to customer who have paid for services to be used. How about a customer dashboard/portal or perhaps just a "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of your emails which again is a legal requirement in Canada.

We have a process to follow here at TurboTax- Therefore our TurboTax FAQ shows what to do in order to contact our phone support team who will assist you with deactivating your TurboTax account.  

 

These instructions apply to all free and paid users of TurboTax Online and CD/Download products:

 

To talk to a TurboTax specialist, begin by filling out the TurboTax Contact Us page form and telling us which platform and version of TurboTax you’re using.

Once you complete the form, the phone number to speak to a TurboTax agent will appear. 

 

 You will let them know you want to deactivate your online account. Our team will email you a form to help confirm your identity

 Fill out the form. Our security team will then be able to deactivate your account.
