I have a question HSA account use. I have an HSA account and I would like to withdraw money to pay for my medical premiums. The IRS documents on this topic are not really clear. I just retired and my former employer offered non medicare retiree health insurance. This is not COBRA insurance either and I expect to be on this plan until I can get on medicare. I am 57 years old and again not on medicare. I pay the full premiums out of pocket to my employer. I am not working and not collecting unemployment from a state. For now, I am just retired. Would this health insurance premium be eligible for HSA reimbursement?
I am also paying COBRA dental insurance premiums to my former employer, but only for 18 months in total. Is this HSA eligible for reimbursement?
Thanks so much for your thoughts on this!
