For some reason (beyond my knowledge), I cannot open any of my returns from 2018 to 2023.  I do not have a hard copy for 2023 and I need to get some information.  Can you help?

Could you please uninstall and reinstall TurboTax Desktop 2023.

I do not have a Turbo Tax icon, nor can I reinstall, as I can't find the disk for 2023 tax year.  I probably just downloaded it from your website - I don't remember.  The computer I have was purchased at Staples about six months ago and they transferred the files from the old computer, but the Turbo Tax icon was not there when I got it back.  They said I would be able to open the files when I bought this year's Turbo Tax, which I intend to do.  Is this true?

If so, let me know, and I will purchase the Turbo Tax program for the 2024 tax year.

To be able to open a TurboTax file (.ttxx), you need to install the software of the same taxes year on the computer. To import data from a previous taxes year to the current one, you just need to install the software for this year and have the previous year TurboTax file (.ttxx) on the computer.

You can download the previous TurboTax years needed on this link. If you still have access to the software on the old computer, you can retrieve your license code by following the steps in the screenshots.

I have been successful retrieving former files, except for the 2023 tax year. I have the licensing code for 2023, but when I went to the site you recommended, all the years are there for me to use, except for the 2023 tax year. Can you please help me with this?  Thank you.

Just to clarify—you can't download TurboTax 2023 from the following TurboTax download link: Where it says "Current year," and hover it, I believe it is for 2023 and not yet 2024 as it states. They will be completing the update shortly. 

Once you download it and enter your license code, you should see your tax returns that you had completed for 2023.
