On each rideshare trip, drivers pay a service fee and booking fee to their partner (Uber). Is this then considered an Input Tax Credit? I claim these fees as expenses on my taxes.
Only GST/HST paid can qualify as an input tax credit so service and booking fees do not qualify for input tax credit. Expenses incurred in the course of business as an independent contractor are deductible for income tax.
