I have have entered capital gain amounts reported on T5008 schedules for my tax return. However, when i look at the Schedule 3, i see that these gains are NOT being brought forward which in turn is under-reporting the proper capital gains i need to claim for the year. There is a line specifically on the Schedule 3 that is supposed to show capital gains from T5008 entries and this line is blank. this is a program error that needs to be fixed ASAP. I am NOT able to override these lines on the Schedule 3 to fix this error.
Have you made sure to choose "Capital Gains" as the type of income?
Well I did that but it didnt fix the same problem for me. Any other ideas?
Through trial and error I figured it out. If the date of disposition is before June 25 2024 then teh data will transfer to sched 3. but if on or after it will not. June 25th was the date that CRA was going to change the inclusion rate, but in the end the rate didnt change but it was late notice and CRA did not update all forms adn i guess the software looks for this date. Seems like a glitch in turbo tax.
Yeah, I had to put in the disposition date to get it to work. There are two different parts to schedule 3 it could put them in based on the date - so maybe TT needs the date to know where to put it. I didn't have to do this in previous years.
I would hope that TurboTax could make an adjustment to solve this issue. I just had to manually insert a date of 01/01/2024 for 48 entries on one client. Downloading T5008s from CRA ends up creating an incredible number of entries....so I am not pleased...
Also, I assume that thousands of TurboTax users will not notice this issue and incorrectly file their returns....
Thank you! You found the answer - I also had 3 items that would not transfer from the T5008 form to Schedule 3, but changing the date of disposition did the trick.
HELLO out there Intuit programmers!!
I have the same error, ( and did mention "investment" in the description of t5008)
Schedule 3 is not populated correctly. As I have many t5008, this error is very cumbersome..
Can I get a refund as program not working correctly?
I called and agent couldn't help. TurboTax Case [phone number removed] was closed with solutions. She said to wait and try again in a few days ???
@TaxMan32 We are aware of this issue and we have an ongoing investigation about this. As this is an issue when customers are using Auto-Fill from CRA, our team is working in collaboration with them to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
For now the option is to open each T5008 and enter the date. We understand that some customers have a lot and this is not the ideal solution.
We will inform you in this thread, as soon as we have news to share.
We thank you for your patience.
FYI this issue is NOT ONLY with autofill from CRA. I had manually entered into Turbo Tax all the T5008 details from the printed sheet from my investment dealer. Not all showed up on Schedule 3. I had to do as the other contributor to this chat said, namely change the dates of sale in order for them to transfer properly.
When is TurboTax going to fix this - I have 218 entries autofilled from CRA from T5008 and it is such a pain to add dates to all the entries in T Forms.
@jeaniess We understand this situation is not ideal and we will inform everyone, in this thread, as soon as we have the updated information.
Thank you for your patience.
Have another problem, can't find a thread anywhere. Please point me in right direction.
Has to do with the RC snafu regarding reporting capital gains from 2024 T3. RC is changing the reporting requirements regarding gains after June 25, 2024.

My T3 slips don't show where capital gains listed in box 21 should be listed - whether in Box 52 or in Box 53 additionally.
Do you have the latest information? Thanks.
Where can I find and follow "the Turbo Tax filing section"?
It does not matter which box you put the gain in. Chose Jan 1 2024 as the date in the T slip data entry boxes and put all in box 52 and you will be fine
@jeaniess In TurboTax, it will show when you go to NETFILE.
Same problem as referenced by others.
150+ CRA import entries into T5008, manually edited to show capital gain (another nuisance that I deal with every year), and nothing drops down into Schedule 3.
20 days before the filing deadline and having to wait on a possible April 14, 2025 software update that might fix the issue. This is nonsense!
Apart from this issue. My wife and I shared capital gain by 50/50, I have to manually enter 50% for each item. And unfortunately, I have over 200 items. I have called you guys since 2022 and I could not see any solution for this.
My suggestion is to make one button to apply all items to the same percentage split, like 50% for each.
@jason Qi I have passed on your suggestion to our product development team. Thank you for your input.
Is there an update? I don't have a lot of lines of data but NONE of them are flowing through to schedule 3. And yes, I have manually inputted the dates.
