TUITION/EDUCATION AMOUNTS

i am filing my daughters tax return and she has had graduated 2 years ago.    the tuition/education amounts are showing up in her 2020 tax return.   I did not claim anything and want to know how to remove them ?

Unused tuition fees are tracked by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and amounts are reported on the Notice of Assessment.

Amounts may be seen in My Account and are downloadable using AutoFill (AFR).

 

If your daughter had unused Tuition in the previous year, some of our TurboTax software automatically carries it forward.

 

Amounts of this unused credit are applied to reduce tax payable automatically. There is no option to voluntarily postpone the use of unused amounts. The CRA knows the unused amount of tuition and they will apply for the credit even if you don't enter any amounts of carry-forward on the current return.
