Turbo Tax Error in applying for OEPTC

The "definition" section of eligibility for the 2025 OEPTC (Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit) is WRONG in TurboTax 2024. This will result in people making incorrect claims.

The TurboTax in-app definition says "if property tax was paid FOR you" but Ontario.ca now says "if YOU paid" only. The "if paid for you" applied in previous years, but has been changed for 2025 claims. TurboTax updated the years in the program, but not the definition.

This means that people are claiming things based on incorrect eligibility and will/could be hit with money owing due to the TurboTax error. This coincides with the TurboTax error allowing people to incorrectly claim Child Care benefits - resulting in money owed back.

If we pay for a tax preparation software it should actually apply the tax laws correctly!!! This is why we BUY the program.

TLDR: Incorrect tax calculation information - allowing multiple people in a household to claim the OEPTC when the updated guidelines say that only the person who actually pays the tax can apply for 2025
