Install into Windows 10 (after download) took very long with no progress status showing. The install seems to be successful. BUT now defunct bookmarks for Chrome have been repopulated into a "bookmark folder" which never had the defunct book marks,

Did you try completely uninstalling and reinstalling? Please clear your cache before reinstalling.
