TurboTAx Premier 2021 - Your taxable dividend does not equal your actual amount of eligible dividends multiply by 138% plus your actual amount of ordinary...

I cannot NetFIle my 2021 taxes for Quebec due to the following error On my Releve 3.

I pulled the Releve 3 information from the government site and as far as I can see reading all the rules it is exactly correct.

I also get the same error message for my wife's taxes and she does not even have a t5/Releve 3.

Is there a fix for this? I see it as a recurring issue in the community, it would seem to be a bug in the softeware. The CRA T5 info is exactly the sma eand Net filed no problem.

You should verify all Slips that apply to you by following those instructions:

Relevé 3:

Box A1 should be equal to boxes A11+A12. So if boxes A11 and A12 are at $0 and Box A1 is >0, you should make the correction

Box A2 should be equal to boxes A21+A22. So if boxes A21 and A22 are at $0 and A2 is >0, you should make the correction

Relevé 15:

Box 6A1 should be equal to boxes 6A1+6A2. So if boxes 6A1 and 6A2 are at $0 and 6A1 is >0, you should make the correction

Box 6B1 should be equal to boxes 6B1+6B2. So if boxes 6B1 and 6B2 are at $0 and 6B1 is >0, you should make the correction

Relevé 16:

Box C1 should be equal to boxes C11+C12. So if boxes C11 and C12 are at $0 and C1 is >0, you should make the correction

Box I for Taxable amount of dividends should be equal to box C1 x 1.38

Box C2 should be equal to boxes C21+C22. So if boxes C21 and C22 are at $0 and C2 is >0, you should make the correction

Box I for pour Taxable amount of ordinary dividends should be equal to box C2 x 1.16

NOTE: a common error is Box I being filled twice with the same number even if the description of both boxes are different.

Relevé 25  :

A1 should be equal to boxes A11+A12. So if boxes A11 and A12 are at $0 and A1 is >0, you should make the correction

Box F for Taxable amount of dividends should be equal to box A1 x 1.38

A2 should be equal to boxes A21+A22. So if boxes A21 and A22 are at $0 and A2 is >0, you should make the correction

Box for Taxable amount of ordinary dividends should be equal to box A2 x 1.16

I looked at the A1, A11, A12 fields.  Where would I get the information to input on A11 & A12 fields ?  Also, the information on my RL3 slip only provides the amount for A1 field.  If I enter 0 on A1, the error do not go away.  There must be  solution to this.  I can't believe the I am unable to file my Quebec return for an amount of $0.32 on A1.

I was on the phone with support several times for several hours and they had no clue.

I eventually found that TurboTax had imported an additional and invalid R16 (not R3) from the CRA which was causing the issue. The CRA accepted the error but QC did not. I deleted the invalid R16 and everything was OK.

There is no problem with the warning message as such, just that with regard to the R3 it is incorrect, all fields were zero, there was no taxable dividend

I have the same issue - the form looks correct and like you I only have numbers in A1, B, C (and also in I).

I had the same issue with Federal Tax, but I was able to "Skip Error" and TurboTax allowed me to file anyway, but TT will not Netfile Qc.

There is nothing here to fix and no instructions in TT - it just says "Fix" which then brings me to the T5/Releve 3 forms which seem correct to me.

Brilliant!

Thanks for the tip: my investment company Placement CI made a mistake and uploaded multiple separate T3/Releve 16, and then created yet another that was likely some "summary" of the multiple separate versions but that was missing some dividends which caused the error in TurboTax. I took your advice and deleted the duplicate T3/RL 16 forms and then all good.

Not only did it fix the problem but resulted in some tax savings because the "duplicate" form also duplicated some capital gains that erroneously increased the taxable income. thanks.

I had the same issue and deleting the extra RL-16 worked for me too.
