What do I enter as my residency status if I am a factual resident?

Thank you for choosing TurboTax. A "factual" resident return is the same return as if you were living here in Canada. So even though you were not living in Ontario, for tax purposes you are still considered a resident.

In Turbo tax 2023 it states "was" a factual resident or "was" a Canadian resident.  what if I am a factual or Canadian resident and was never a factual resident.  It says that the definition of factual resident is anyone who leaves the country for vacation - no time frame indicated.  1 day out of the county is a Factual resident?
