Have you used a sharing license code or shared the license code? If so, you must download TurboTax Desktop after logging into your/their Intuit account.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
It did have to do with using an old email. A good reminder to keep login info saved somewhere safe. Thanks
I bought the program and my wife used it on her computer but I am not allowed to use it???
@Tom donaghy When does that error occur? Does the error have a description?
Im confused, the download page has nowhere to log in before downloading, so how can we follow:
"If so, you must download TurboTax Desktop after logging into your/their Intuit account."
When i log into the shared account (on desktop premier) i still get error 608.
Based on what im reading, logging into the shared account first should give me the option to select the used key (only 1/3 computers used so far)
@TbTxWil You need to download the software, then when you start the installation, it will ask you to login.
That's what i thought, thank you for confirming.
So after I do this, and log into the shared account (that already has 1/3 PC code uses), it still asks for a code.
Is it not supposed to recognize that the account has a code available?
Matt
@TbTxWil Yes, you will need a license code if you are downloading a Desktop version.
Yes..
I'm saying after I log into the account that has activated a code..it still asks to enter a code.
So I enter the same code and it gives the "already in use" error.
It should recognize that i have 2 uses still, no?
I've always bought the turbotax and my son and I share the software. He has completed his taxes but when I now try to sign in to do my taxes, it says the license code is already linked into another account error code 608. This has never happened before. I don't want to log into his account and therefore I assume we would be able to access each other's information?
help,
Maureen / Mom
@MAUREEN MCDOONALD Is TurboTax Online the version you are using?
There is only one account that TurboTax Online can link to. If it is linked to your son's account, it cannot be linked to yours. You must prepare and submit your return using his account in order to use the same product.
