Why are menu items on screen left side unavailable?

You may not have completed the first sections of your return. Continue through these sections until the Income part of the interview to unlock the left side menu.

Exactly .... I missed one 'check mark' in the 'interview' section. I've used TurboTax so often, I got careless.
