    I became separated in in 2014. Can I claim my dependant child as a spousal dependent

    If you aren't claiming spousal credit, and if your dependant child qualifies ( under 18, lives with you etc) then you can claim eligible depedant credit, per line 305 of Schedule 1.
    Recommend to read the T1 Guide to ensure you qualify.
