I can't claim my daughter cause her ssn was used

My taxes was being prepared and I got a rejection notification saying that my daughter ssn was already used nobody has her info but me and her mother could it be that another tax office was preparing someone else return and put a 5 instead of a 6 or what ever I don't travel with my children's info or give it out to any place that don't need it I was told I have to mail my return in how long is this process if it was just a mistake on another end I have her school letter and I can get a doctors letter if that's needed thanks

SSN would indicate a US return.  If this is the case, you will need to change to the US forum.  This is the Canadian forum.  Try www.turbotax.com
