Which spouse should claim medical expenses (income splitting)

My wife makes about a 11,000 which is a third of what I make with retirement pension.  Last year we did income splitting.  We have about $3000 in medical expenses.  Which spouse would be best to claim this?

Which spouse should claim medical expenses (income splitting)

The lower income spouse usually should claim medical, assuming there is enough income to absorb the credit. This would include any income you split to your spouse, although you really won't see much benefit in your tax bracket. I would suggest you do joint preparation and use the income splitting optimizer.
