My employer paid for part of my school tuition and included it on my T4 as 'other taxable benefit', does this mean I'm eligible for tax credits on this years tax return?

Yes you are able to claim the tuition credits.  You are paying tax on the value of the tuition therefore it is the same as if you used your own money.
