I have received $10K financial gift wired into my checking account from my family abroad. Is this considered an income? Should I report it to CRA?

Most gifts are not considered income and therefore, do not need to be reported as income on the income tax return.  However, the interest that you earn on the gift is considered income and does need to be reported.
