Does the CRA check out where u live when u move ? My sister in law has the same last name as my ex , so is it ok to live with her ?

If you report that you are separated on your income tax return, you cannot live with your ex-spouse.  You are absolutely allowed to live with anyone else of your choosing even if it is your ex-spouse's sister.
