My old computer was accidentally thrown out and my tax returns were not cleaned off, is there a recourse where turbo tax can help me? Thanks.

My computer was accidentally thrown out and I had not had an opportunity to clean off previous years returns.  I had transfered them to a flash drive, but my computer crashed and I could not delete and my son thought it was okay and put it out with the garbage.  Is there anyway I can have Turbo Tax retrieve/delete this info from my old computer, or is there a way for me to do it on another computer.  Thanks.

If you are using TurboTax CD/Download, unfortunately there isn’t anything we can do to get the files back. One of the big disadvantages of the CD/Download version is that since the files are only stored on your own computer, there is nothing we can do to assist you if the files are damaged or lost. If the files are still on your flash drive, then you can copy them onto your new computer, though you will also have to reinstall TurboTax if you haven’t already done so.

If you are using TurboTax, you can login to each year and re-download the PDF copies of your returns. However, only 2016 & 2017 are still available.
