How come when I claimed my daughter as an eligible dependent it did not change my balance due.

How come when I claimed my daughter as an eligible dependent it did not change my balance due.

If you are Self-Employed, claiming the Eligible Dependant Amount may not reduce your balance due as this is a Non Refundable Tax Credit, and what you are paying is most likely your CPP self-employed contributions. 

If you look at the Detailed Tax Summary, you will see if you actually have "tax payable" or are paying CPP contributions.
