I sold my principal residence in 2018. Lived there 100% since 2012. Keeps showing as income & taxing me for full amount How do I get exempt on capital gains from sale?

Return to the Principal Residence section of your return. (if you have entered the transaction directly in the Capital Gains section of your return, remove the entry in full.)

Review the answers to all the questions paying special attention to the questions about the number of years the property was your principal residence. On the Sale of Principal Residence Summary screen, your capital gain/loss should show as zero.
