How can I get turbotax to not claim the spouse/partner amount (line 303) as this is preventing the transfer of unused tuition amounts to the parent.

Both spouses have minimal income so there is no need to transfer credits but turbotax is forcing the spousal transfer anyway preventing the unused tuition amounts to be transferred to the parent

To remove the line 303 claim, you'll need to change the answer to a question in Forms view.

1. From Easy Step Interview view, click the Forms button in the upper right to change to forms view.
2. Near the bottom of the screen, choose the spouse who currently has the spousal amount you'd like to remove. Beside that spouse's name is a tab marked Forms. Click that tab and select the form named INFOWS.
3. When the form opens, locate the question "Are you eligible to claim the spousal amount?" in the Taxpayer Filing Information section.
4. Change the answer from Yes to No.
5. Click the option for Easy Step at the top of the screen to return to the interview view.

These steps will remove the spousal amount.
