Am I considered a nonresident of Canada?
by TurboTax•1• Updated 1 month ago
You're considered a nonresident of Canada for tax purposes if you:
- routinely live in another country
- don't have significant residential ties with Canada and you stayed in Canada for less than 183 days in 2024
- If you stayed in Canada for 183 days or more and aren't considered a resident of another country, you may be a deemed resident
If you're not sure of your status, you can request an opinion from the CRA.
