How do I enter medical expenses for dependants aged 18 or over?

To enter medical expenses for dependants aged 18 years or over, you'll first have to enter the dependant's info, including their net income, into your TurboTax file.

Then, separate and add up the medical expenses you paid for each dependant aged 18 or over.

To enter your expenses using TurboTax Online

From the Tax home screen, under Add to your return, enter medical and select Medical Expenses Profile.
At the Your Medical Profile screen, select any applicable boxes, including You paid medical expenses for a dependant (other than your spouse or children under 18 years of age), then continue.
At the Medical Expense For Other Dependants screen, complete the table.

To enter your expenses using TurboTax Desktop

From the menu, select Deductions & Credits, then Medical expenses profile.
