Why is NETFILE disabled?

SOLVEDby TurboTax3Updated October 21, 2021

There are a couple of reasons why the option to submit to NETFILE might be disabled or appear “greyed out."

  • CRA’s NETFILE service isn’t open for the tax year yet.
  • CRA’s NETFILE service is open for the tax season, but your installation of TurboTax is out of date.

Note: The CRA’s NETFILE service accepts tax returns for the past four years. You can use TurboTax to NETFILE your returns for tax years 2018 and beyond during the 2021 tax season. Returns for tax years prior to 2018 must be printed and mailed to the CRA. For more information, read the CRA: T1 return contact page.
