How do I submit a claim under the TurboTax Live - Full Service 100% Guarantee?

If you pay a CRA penalty or interest because of a TurboTax Full Service error, we'll pay you for both the penalty and interest.

Before you submit your claim, make sure that:

You received an assessment or re-assessment notice from the CRA regarding a tax return that shows the penalties/interest you owe.
Your contact information is current.
CRA audit review letters have been responded to with appropriate documentation and your tax return has been amended, either by yourself or with assistance from our Audit Defence team.

To qualify:

For the 100% Accurate Calculations Guarantee:

You double-checked your entries and you entered them correctly.
If you used TurboTax Desktop, you registered your software and your program is up-to-date.

For the 100% Accurate, Expert Approved Guarantee:

You used TurboTax Live-Full Service.

To submit your claim:

Preparing your claim

Prepare your claim submission by having the following information/documents available:

Name, address, and daytime phone number
Your TurboTax store sales receipt, purchase confirmation email, or shipment packing slip
Proof of payment for another tax preparation method (if applicable)
Copy of the tax return prepared with TurboTax
Copy of the tax return prepared with another tax preparation method
Copy of your CRA Notice of Reassessment

Submitting your claim

To begin your claim, please contact our customer service help desk to have your case reviewed within 30 days of the date on your penalty assessment notice, as we only reimburse the penalties and interest on the first notice received. If your claim is approved, we'll pay the penalties and interest incurred on the first notice you receive (you'll still be responsible for the tax you owe on the return).

You should also respond to the CRA (if they requested a response) as soon as possible, per your assessment notice or audit/review letter.
