Your contact method depends on how you purchased the service:

  • Log in to your TurboTax Online account for the relevant tax year.

  • Open the tax return that relates to the letter you received from the CRA or Revenu Québec (RQ).

  • Click "Audit Defence" to start the process and schedule a call with a Tax Expert.

TurboTax Desktop Users

  • Locate your confirmation email (search for do_not_reply@intuit.ca).

  • Find your Authorization Number and Membership Certificate within that email.

  • Follow the contact instructions provided in the email. Note: You must have your authorization number ready for the call.

What the Audit Defence Tax Expert Will Do

Once you are connected, your Tax Expert will guide you through these steps:

  • Eligibility & Onboarding: Verify your service eligibility and begin the formal onboarding process.

  • Analysis: Review your tax return against the specific issues raised by the CRA or RQ.

  • Documentation: Direct you on exactly which documents and information are required for the response.

  • Representation (CRA only): Act as your authorized agent with the CRA, communicating with them and submitting responses on your behalf.

    • Note: They cannot act as an authorized agent for RQ, but will provide you with full submission instructions.

  • Resolution: Provide a copy of the final submission for your approval and confirm receipt once it has been sent to the CRA.
