The CRA automatically determines your Canada Child Benefit (CCB) eligibility each year when you file your tax return. The CCB is a nontaxable benefit, so you don't receive a slip for this income and don't need to enter the benefit amount you received on your return.
However, you and your spouse or common-law partner (if applicable) both have to file a return every year to qualify for the benefit, even if there's no income to report. If your marital status has changed, you must notify the CRA, as this can affect your CCB benefits.
An annual estimate for the CCB appears on the bottom line (tax summaries) screen in TurboTax based on what you've entered. If you don't see the estimate, there are a few things to consider when reviewing your CCB information.
