How do I claim the Saskatchewan Active Families Benefit?

SOLVEDby TurboTax11Updated December 12, 2023

The Saskatchewan Active Families Benefit (AFB) is available to families with children aged 18 or younger who were enrolled in sports, cultural, or recreational activities during the year. Your family income must be under $60,000 to be eligible.

The benefit provides up to $150 per child or $200 per child with a disability. You don’t have to submit any receipts with your tax return when claiming the AFB, but keep them on hand in case the Government of Saskatchewan or the CRA asks for supporting documents.

Your child's program must be offered by a service provider in Saskatchewan, involve instruction and supervision, and require a registration or membership fee. Visit the CRA’s Saskatchewan Information Guide webpage for more information on eligibility.
