Can I claim my spouse or common-law partner as my dependant?
by TurboTax•52• Updated 3 days ago
Your spouse or common-law partner can't be claimed as your dependant, but if you supported your spouse or common-law partner at any time during the year, and they have a low income, you may be able to claim the spouse or common-law partner amount (SCP).
TurboTax automatically calculates the SCP when you enter your marital status and complete your spouse’s personal information section.
